A flame doesn't release your candle's fragrance — it destroys it. The tip of a wick runs above 1,400°F, hot enough to incinerate the delicate oils that carry scent before they ever reach the room. Meanwhile the wick tunnels straight down the middle, and two-thirds of the wax you paid for ends up welded to the side of the jar. Step 1: Set your candle on the base
Any jar candle up to 3.5" wide — the one you already own and have been rationing. Center it on the plate and slide the arm down until the shade hovers over the wax.

Turn the dimmer to the warmth you want, then tap 2, 4, or 8 hours. ETL-certified auto shut-off means you can fall asleep with it on — it turns itself off.

It replaces the flame. A bulb in the shade sits above your candle and gently warms the wax from the top until the surface liquefies and releases its fragrance. You get the scent and the glow, without combustion — so no smoke, no soot on the walls, no black ring inside the jar, and no wick to trim or relight.
Almost certainly. Any jar or tin up to 3.5" in diameter fits on the warming plate, which covers the large majority of candles sold in the US. The arm adjusts for height, so tall and short jars both work. Pillar and taper candles are the exception — those need a flame.

Two things separate them. First, the controller: cheap warmers ship with an uncertified inline switch and no timer, which is exactly the component you do not want to economise on in something left running overnight — ours is ETL certified with a hard auto shut-off. Second, the dimmer is stepless rather than a three-position click, so you can actually tune how much scent the room gets.
Expect roughly two to three times the hours you're getting now. A warmer runs cooler than a flame so the wax evaporates far more slowly, and because the melt pool reaches the glass on every use, you eventually burn the wax that a wick would have left stranded on the sides.
